Welcome to the website of the SemLang Summer University
(CIEP, Sèvres, 6-10/07/2009)

This newly created event aims at bringing together decision makers in the domain of language and education policy, in order to reflect on ways of improving the efficiency of language teacher training in the European Union. Experts from all over Europe are invited to exchange information about the existing systems of teacher education and to reflect on ways of improving teacher training.

30/11/2009 - Recommendations

The Recommendations for the optimisation of language teacher education in Europe are now available online. They suggest possible actions on the basis of the results of the Summer University.

…of all the conferences of the SemLang Summer University are now available online.

09/09/2009 - Photos and comments

A new section ("Photos and comments") has been created. Click on the link in the menu for a visual presentation of the Summer University.

29/07/2009 - New section: Contents

The results of the Summer University (abstracts, productions, videos, pictures, feedback, etc.) will progressively be made available online. Just click on the "Contents" tab in the menu !

The names and profiles of the speakers are now available through the corresponding menu.

25/05/2009 - Registrations will soon be closed

Personalities from 20 different countries, representing ministries, universities, language centres and associations have already signed up for the Summer University. There is very little time left if you want to join the debates. In order to do so, simply follow the link on the left side of the page. Deadline: June 26th, 2009.
